Trip Intent

What did I do?

Current problem

Airbnb wasn’t collecting information on what travellers interests for Airbnb Experiences are.

Strategy

Process

We want to set a playful and fun tone to make guests complete the quiz by gamification and user-interaction.

My role is to craft content for MVP to build a component into Airbnb's platform:
Mock designs for 3, 4, 6, or 8 options
Map out questions
Partner with Eng for data on existing responses on P4

Results

What did I learn?

I was the Lead content writer for a project that was the first-ever featured on the homepage of Airbnb mobile/web.

My role was to be a primary resource of the designers on UX writing projects and deliver to make deadlines. We had to define the content strategy for a project or feature and write clear and concise content across multiple touch points.

Updates from MVP to V2:

Added color to icons to increase engagement
Increased engagement from .6 to 1.6%
Changed options to more inclusive of the user flow

We wanted to make sure we were communicating the reward of finishing the trip intent quiz by giving the user a results page that was not only visually appealing but of use to the user. The design intern partner Imaan and I worked with came up with the 3 tones for our P2 page (results page) I took the 3 themes from design and created themes to help guide my writing.

Education → Long-form, descriptive

Motivational → Promotional, straight-forward

Bookable → Aspirational, fun

I was one of the lucky interns that had the chance to work with a lot of different designers, engineers, PM's, and folks from legal. Thank you Imaan, not only did I get to work with an learn from an extremely talented designer, but only after a few short months but now I have a lifelong friend.
